WHY IS is it Bad When IT TASTES SO GOOD!
We hear it's good, we hear it's bad, and then there are numbers involved. What's that all about? In a nutshell, cholesterol is a fat (fancy people call it a lipid) that is on the external part of the cells that make up your body. So why do we care? There are 3 types of cholesterol you should be concerned about. These are LDL (bad cholesterol), HDL (good cholesterol) and Triglycerides. They all have important functions and make sure your body is doing its job. When eating properly and exercising on a regular level, all these numbers combined should be less than 200mg/dL to make sure your body is functioning on an optimal level. High levels of cholesterol (aka: fatty foods) puts you at risk for conditions like heart disease, heart attack and stroke. So what should you do if you have high cholesterol? Keep moving! We can customize your fitness routines and couple it with nutritional counseling to get those levels back to normal and stay there. UNDER PRESSURE
It's no fun sometimes to be under pressure, but the good news is that your body is so smart, it knows how to handle it. The National Heart, Lung and Blood Institute states that 1 in 3 Americans suffer from high blood pressure. In fact, you can have high blood pressure right now and not even know it! Complications from high blood pressure include heart failure, aneurysms and kidney failure. Pretty scary things! It may be time to pop in and see your doctor to see if you're at risk.
So what if you have it? The good news is, changing your diet is half the battle. Diet and exercise play a fundamental role in keeping blood pressure down. We can customize workouts and dietary goals for you if this is something you're dealing with. We even re-evluate your blood pressure throughout the course of your training (in from your primary care physician) in hopes to lower, or eventually eliminate completely any medication you might be taking for high blood pressure.

And The Real Reason Why You're Here...
There are so many reasons exercising benefits your life. We could talk about the ins and outs of blood pressure, cholesterol and achieving physiological balance, but we're sure one of the big reasons you're here is to fit in those skinny jeans. A study conducted by Arizona State University shows show that exercise and losing weight reduces depression, anxiety and improves your daily mood. In addition, dropping excess weight boosts your self-esteem and increases social interaction. So even though you want to lose the weight, the more important question to ask is why.
The best thing you can do for yourself is to start a new diet and exercise regimen for the right reasons. Fitting into those jeans is a great start, but in our experience if you focus on making your body stronger and making your diet clean, you'll be able to fit in those jeans sooner rather than later.
